American soprano Amanda Sheriff was recently a Ryan Center finalist and is an Opera Glynn Studio Artist at Atlanta Opera. In Altanta, she will perform roles such as, Countess Ceprano (Rigoletto), Soprano soloist (Frankenstein) and cover Gilda (Rigoletto), Musetta (La Bohéme), and Helena (Midsummer’s Night Dream). Upcoming roles include Musetta (La Bohéme) with Intermountain Opera Bozeman and Jospehine (Josephine) with Music of Remembrance. As a concertist, Amanda has performed as the soprano soloist in Carmina Burana, Brahm’s Requiem, and Ordering of Moses.

Earlier this season Amanda made her Glimmerglass Festival debut as Callista in the world premiere of the youth opera, (The Rip Van Winkles).

In 2022, Amanda was the first prize winner of the Lotte Lenya competition and returned to Opera Delaware as Despina (Così fan tutte) and Miss Jessel (Turn of the Screw) with Opera Baltimore. 

 During her 2021 season Sheriff was an Apprentice Artist at Des Moines Metro Opera where she debuted Miss Lightfoot (Fellow Travelers) and covered Clarine and L’amour (Platée). Amanda was also a Studio Artist at Florida Grand Opera and sang Beatrice (Three Decembers), 1st Trio member (Trouble in Tahiti), Célie (Signor Deluso) and Babs (New York Stories). Amanda made her Opera Delaware and Opera Baltimore debuts as Norina (Don Pasquale) and Monica (The Medium). 

 In 2020, Amanda sang Pamina (The Magic Flute ) and Little Red (Little Red’s Most Unusual Day) with Opera Iowa. 

In 2019, Amanda sang Susanna in (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Seagle Music Festival.

She received her BM: music education and MM: vocal performance from Stephen F. Austin State University.
